Kesha plays it safe with “Die Young” comeback

Kesha Die Young music review |

The girl who claimed she would “resurrect rock n’ roll” with her sophomore album, has released her first official single.

However instead of a change in sound, we are presented with a song that could have easily fit in on either her first EP or LP.

The melody is reminiscent of recent Flo Rida and Katy Perry tracks like “Good Feeling” and “TGIF”, complete with predictable breakdown and wavy synths. Her half-rapping is back and in full swing and the chorus is really nothing special.

The radio will be sure to squeeze the song way past its generic shelf life date, but here’s hoping that the rest of the album isn’t so predictable. To think I had such high hopes!
